i cracked both of my C5 front rotors
so i've got the C5 brake upgrade on my SS and i managed to somehow crack the hell out of both front rotors.
what the hell? i thought these rotors are better than f-body rotors? i'm using GM blanks.

yea my rotors came from team chevrolet, not sure exactly what part#'s they are however.
they're just over a year old i think, maybe a little less than 1.5 years old. i'm also using z06 brake pads.

Just messing with you meng. I have C5 rotors on my C5
and they've never cracked, and we put C5 brakes on my friends SS and they've been great too.

Scott, are they minor heat cracks or big f***ing can't-drive-the-car-because-half-the rotor-fell-off cracks?
The only way I can see to crack a rotor really badly like that is to do a full on panic stop from 100mph, coming to a full stop then parking the car and letting them cool down on their own. That would crack any set of rotors, but I can't imagine you doing something like that. What happened? When did they crack?

noticed when i rotated my tires that there were little tiny cracks all the way around the rotors, in the middle where the pad hits.
well today i had to do a panic stop from like 100mph because something jumped out in front of me and when i parked at my house i checked out the rotor and sure enough there is a blue heat scorch mark about half an inch wide all the way around the center of the front driver's rotor and cracks run through it.
the passenger side is the same way although not as bad
