How do know if my camaro has been lowered
How do know if my camaro has been lowered
Just bought a 98 z-28 and i think it may have been lowered at sometime in its over used life. I have always been a Chevy truck guy so i know those inside out but i cant even see under this car, lol. I bought it last weekend and it has 17" Cragar S/S rims with 235/45/17 tires on it. They look good but i would love to find stockers to put on it. I think that the over all diameter is very close to stock but the front end sure is low compared to other Z's i have seen. Can anyone with a stock combo give me some measurements from the ground to the top of the wheel well? Also is there anything else i would have to change on the suspension to make it function correctly if someone has changed the springs?
Re: How do know if my camaro has been lowered
Mine is roughly 27.5" to 28" in the back, and 27" to 27.5" in the front. Stock springs, stock tire sizes.
If it is lowered it will probably be about 1.5". Also, you will need an adjustable panhard rod so the back axle is centered behind the body of the car.
Lower control arm relocation brackets will also help, but are not needed.
Finally, a realignment is needed if it is not already done.
