help Baer Front Claw System the GT 13 x 1.25
This is around 950 from T bryne. Julie there didn't know how to install this exactly, but said this was fitable on a 94 lt1 but you had to grind something. Anybody else deal with this one? I wouldn't mind going with ls1, but its 200+ new powerslot rotors 200+hawk pads 60. And I think this Baer would be better. Any help guys?

You have to cut the caliper mounting ears off the spindle. Everything else is bolt on. This link is not for the same brakes but shows what you have to cut.

You will need 17" wheels. The Baer web site has templets you can download to check wheel fit.

Thanks pretty helpful guide. I just trying to decide what to get.
Baer GT
ls1 brakes
other
I was just trying to avoid cutting things off my car lol. That is why I didn't want to go to the LS1 set up. But oh well it looks like I will have too. I just don't know if I want to spend a grand either for Baer on an very old car 1994. The thing with the ls1, to make sure you don't get warped spindles, that might be a few hundreths off or something get it put on and lined up and then have issues. And Baer has 3 brake setups for under 1000 dollars which is cool. I know what calipear I have sometimes sticks so with 160k on my car, new calipears is a must with the next brake job I think. There 50 bucks for the cheap ones, plus brake pads, plus rotor turns, and I would like steel lines, and then after its done I still got 1 piston lt1 brake. Why would chevy put an 1 piston on a sports car in 1994. Even 3rd gen's you could get 2 piston pbr on rare models.....
Any guys have these? Or any other ideas.
Oh yea. I got 17x9.5 ZR1 replicas so I think i'm ok there.

You can also piece the project together using Speed Specialty's caliper mounting brackets http://www.speedspecialty.com/store/...=c5fbodybrakes and buying all of the Corvette parts from Jason Cromer (do a search) and save some money. That way you can get undrilled rotors that will match your stock rears. Baer replacement rotors are expensive.
Also be aware that your spare won't fit 13" rotors. Even with a 12" rotor like the LS1s use you need a 98 or later spare.
Cutting the spindles is pretty easy. Use a sawzall with a spare blade or 2. Keep the blade oiled as you cut so it doesn't wear out so fast.

I didn't think my spare would fit. I just hate all of this cutting bussiness. And I really hate going with a properity system such as baer, wildwood. I would like the LS1 setup, but afraid of getting bent spindles. And if i get ls1.
ls1 spindles etc 200 shipped
new rotors 200
new pads 70
And if I go C5, that will be that much more to buy the brackerts and then the calipears etc.
So with the baer you shave off stuff
with the ls1 you trade out whole spindles?
I"m just trying to see what my options are. I feel like just selling the car and getting ls1 setup. I hate sinking that much money in my car, after all the other stuf I have spent on it.
Thanks

Just do the LS1 Wilwood setup and use a pair of LS1 spindles and LS1 SS brake lines and you won't have to do any cutting. There are little tricks to making the LS1 kit fit a LT1 car, but nothing that require cutting anything on the spindle. I finished up doing the the front and rear big brake setup from Wilwood on my 96 WS6. Any questions just holla at me.

Do a C5 brake conversion like I did. I get my rotors directly from GMPartsDirect.com, slotted and cross drilled for $42 each. Genuine GM parts.

My C5 rotors are only $16 each from GMPartsDirect.com but they don't have the bling of Steve's
My entire C5 conversion, also including, Hawk HPS pads, stainless brake lines and ATE TYP 200 brake fluid was around $825 shipped. Pics are on my webpage in my signature
