Good, low dust pads?

I just got my LS1 brakes, and I need new pads. What are some good low dust pads? The brake pads that I have now are pretty good. What are the pads that GM puts on at the factory? Thanks a lot.

Can't answer your question exactly, but I know a guy with a supra who bought kevlar pads and said they worked really well. The pads leave no dust whatsoever. Don't know where he got them, but I figure it might give you an idea though. The only downside was the price (can't remember what he paid). I also remember that they smelled kinda wierd after he took me for a hard run in it.

Kevlar pads are good and they do dust...but the dust isnt black, its a lot lighter than most other pads. I like my Hawk HPS pads, the dust they leave is pretty light too and isn't too bad. Good stopping power too.

Take a look at EBC green stuff pads, made from kevlar. They advertise low light dusting and high cold CF. I hear they wear fast in heavy cars so the cost/wear ratio may concern you.

I'm happy with my EBCs. Good braking, not much dust.

Can you pick up EBCs at a local auto parts store? I need to pick up just a few things tonight so it would be nice to throw it all on one bill.

Go Hawk, if you won't look black. I get such minimal dusting. I had some swirl bird wheels and cheap pads. They dusted front wheels black in 2 days. When the hawks 2months is less dust than two days.

I use Wagner Thermoquiet pads (from Oreilly's) for street use. They are equivalent to the stock GM pads for braking power and have zero noise and very little dust.

I have used Hawk Plus pads for the last two pad changes but I don't recommend those for the street. Terrible dusting and noise. I can't drive 10 miles without black dust all over my wheels. On the other hand, they'll stand the car on it's nose!!!

I use Hawk HPS pads in the rear and I'm going to start using those in the front with my next pad change.

You can get them through most of the site's vendors. I got my rear HPS's from Thunder.
