Front Crossmember Missing!

Just discovered that the 81 Camaro I bought last month is missing it's front crossmember ( ). There is a plate welded in underneath the radiator for support/strength but it will never get through the MOT (UK) without a CM. Is it a pricey job? Can it be welded straight in? Thanks for your help!

hi,
i think you'll find it's not a structural point on an 81,
i've had a few that i i've welded across the front rad support,
and they passed the MOT fine,
pics would help us decide for sure,
