SO I'm going to replace the warped rotors and replace the pads on my 97 Z28when I realize that I put the dual piston calipers off a 2000 on my car.
The tool I have to compress the caliper is made for a 1 piston caliper.
So how the do I compress it?
I don't want to scratch the caliper up either.

take the cover of your master cylinder and compress them 1 at a time with a 6" c clamp

 

I was thinking if I did that the other position would come out?
BTW I never push the brake fluid back through the system.
It "could" hurt the ABS system.

No it won't. That's how it's done.



Put the C clamp on the caliper with the caliper still mounted on the car.

Squeeze the caliper with the brake pads and rotor still in place.

Don't get crazy with cranking on the C clamp.

Done.

 

if the other piston pushes back out then just use two c clamps.

 

Or use a block of wood....

 

I just leave the old brake pad on the piston side of the caliper and compress it with a c-clamp. Give the old brake pad one last use before tossing it in the ole trash can.
