Folks with lowered cars...

I lowered my car with some springs that my friend had and i dont know what they are. For the people who have lowered your car, how much did it drop? and what are the best springs to use?

I used SLP Level 2 which are the same as Eibach Pro, I believe. The best springs to use will be determined by what you want in the way of handling, ride, and how much you want to lower your car.

The Eibachs are a very nice compromise, lowering the car 3/4 up front and about 1 1/2 inch out back. They are a progressive rate spring so they don't ride really harsh. 300-450 lb/inch front and 120-160 lb/inch rear, I think.Very nice pkg, in my view. Doing it over I might go without the progressive thing because I am a bit of a bug about good handling. A 500 lb per inch front and 150 lb per inch rear seems to be a good choce for handling without getting too harsh a ride.

Bottom line is you need to decide for yourself what you want to accomplish with the car and chose springs accordingly.

Measure from the ground to the bottom of the top of the wheel well and let us know what it is. Mine is 25.75" and it's pretty low but I can still run 17x11's wit 315's.

What kind of shocks would you recommend on a lowered car. I plan on lowering my car soon and I hear using the stock shocks make the ride terrible. I don't want anything crazy, just a decent aftermarket shock that will work well on a lowered car.

Very good aftermarket shock is Bilstein. Koni is no doubt among the best, but that is reflected in the price. Call

Strano Performance Parts

814-849-3450 technical info.

Re: Folks with lowered cars...

Your shock choice is dependant on the springs you use. I use coil overs on mine with 500 lb springs and I went with Koni SA's (per Strano's advice). It appears to have been a good choice. I don't think my ride is much stiffer than stock but the handling difference is remarkable.

I agree though, the best advice is to call Sam. He'll spend a considerable amount of time asking YOU questions about what you really want out of your car. With that info he'll get you EXACTLY what you need. I promise it will be the best phone call you can make for your car.

In all the years I've been buying hot rod parts for my f-bod, I have never come across an outfit like Strano. Simply the best service ever!

I have Eibach sportlines. Its really low, but I have hooker lts on the car and they hit all the time. I'm gonna raise it back up. Maybe use the pro kit or something.

I have BMR on my car. It lowered the front about 1" and the rear a little more than an 1". So far I'm really happy with the springs. It's much more responsive, and handles much better too.
