firehawk springs

This may seem like a silly question but will the Firehawk springs from a 96-97 or 00-02 fit on a 97 z28? I heard/read that they lower the car about 3/4 of an inch. Is this true?

They will work. It should be the same springs as what is on an SS. Since both were produced by SLP. Don't know abouth the lowering part.

Yes, they will fit, but the question is what springs exactly are you looking at? The base Firehawk/SS springs are exactly the same as a stock Z28/Formula. For 97, the Level II suspension package has the upgraded parts, which includes variable rate springs that lower the car about .5-.75". Combine these with a good shock (Koni, Bilstein HD) and you have a very good handling suspension. Put them with the SLP Bilsteins and you have a good compromise suspension that is better than stock but still gives a very good ride.

Hey thanks man!! The ones I saw were the from the level II suspension. I saw them on slponline. I think I might have to scoop them up!!!! I probably be going with the bilstein HDs.

Will I have to have the HD revalved? Is that really necessary when lowereing a f-body.

The Bilstein HDs should work fine with the Level II springs. If you want, you can get revalved Bilsteins direct from Sam Strano.
