Eibach Pro dampers? Anyone?

I've spent hours on here reading about different springs and shocks and rates and valving, etc, etc and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the eibach shocks witch are suposed to be valved-matched to the springs and or what other shocks would be valved or adjustable to work well with eibach sportlines.

thnx

Junk.... Horrible. Last car I drove with them felt like it had no shocks at all. It's marketing, much like Bilstein does with their kit that uses shocks not quite up to the job either.

Shocks are the single hardest part of the suspension to do correct. Many companies that only do hydraulics mess the valving up.... And shocks are the single most critical part of having a properly working suspension.

You'd think they'd be great. But from experience I can tell you they aren't.

And they've been on clearance for over two years. For DA's the cost is cheap. Cheap because they are old and have been sitting around for the last 4 years or more (since production stopped). DA's are also more fragile than SA's (which you get into for a little less still). And Single Koni's have a choice of two spring perch heights that DA's don't.

So, you can chose to spend about the same money on DA's that have been sitting around, don't have the moving perch, don't work any better (I own DA's, but run SA's on my AUTOCROSS car, which also win's National Championships), but do have compression adjustment which most folks screw up.

*OR*

You can get into SA's for as little as just over $700 a set, have shocks with fresh seals that haven't become brittle from 4 years of sitting around and not moving, have the option to lower the car slightly with stock springs if you want it, and perform just as well while being more durable.

Just FYI.

do both the front and rear SA shocks come with the moveable perch??

and how much does it move???

i've been looking to drop my car a little bit...possible only about 1/2"...would these allow me to do that??

Rear shocks dont' have any perch, there is another way we lower the back. Result of Koni SA's on the lower front perch, isolator mod in back is approx. 5/8-3/4" in front, 1/2" in the rear.....

There are a number of pics floating around of cars lowered this way on various forums.

Really takes the edge off the 4x4 look, makes the car look like it should have. Very similar to an SLP Level 1, but with much better dampers too.

SWEET!!!

what other forums?? and what would i search under??

i think you just cured my "what lowering springs" problem. since i didn't want the full 1-1.5" drop of most springs. not to mention i wanted good shocks to go along with them.

hmm...wonder if there is a way to get the rear just bit lower?? i suppose i could always do the BRM 1" rear springs. but how would that throw the handling off?
