Earls braided brake lines

anyone who has installed these.

i am trying to install the rear center line. I only have 1 braded line from Earls (single opening on one end, 2 openings on the other), and there are 2 lines in the back. Do i have to modify the steel lines to fit this or am i missing a line?

Dude they sent you the wrong lines. The 93-96 cars only have one line to the rear axle. 97-02 cars have two.

If your stuck with it. I'll buy the center rear line from ya.

I beleive the other lines are close to the same. Didn't you say you already installed them.

I'm running LT1 lines on my LS1 front brakes now.

Wanna sell the rear line????

Re: Earls braided brake lines

It sounds like you got the kit for the cars without traction control. The kit for my 2000 came with 5 lines (one for each caliper and one center) and stated on the package something like "w/o traction control". My car doesn't have traction control, so the 5 lines were all I needed. I understand from Sam Strano that the kits for traction control cars have 6 lines (one for each caliper and two center).

I was under the impression that all the 97 on cars had 6 lines with two seperate circuts running to the rear brakes.

Re: Earls braided brake lines

Oops. I goofed. I started to use the kit from Earl's but the package said it was for cars up thru '99. I don't know what the difference would be, but I went with the kit from Russell instead. I bought it from Sam Strano and he mentioned that the traction control cars have six lines (two in the center) while the cars w/o traction control (like mine) have only five (one in the center).

Re: Earls braided brake lines

herre is what i gathered. 94-02 have the same four lines to the calipers, but the TCS cars do have 6 lines. Earl doesnt make the TCS kit anymore, so i just get an extra line lying around, unless i can find another.

Re: Earls braided brake lines

You could always have the other line custom made, it does not cost too much. I just pulled off the Earl's SS brake line kit including the 5th line off my 96 WS6 (6spd, MOSER 12bolt) car. I replaced everything with Wilwood & custom SS brake lines. I will have that exact same 5th line for sale if anyone needs one on the cheap.
