Question Difficulty of installing a complete airbag system on a Camaro?

How hard would it be to install an airbag system? Is this something I can do myself (along with help) or will I have to take it to a shop? BTW what is the difference between FAST air kits and juist normal kits?

Thanks

slow down and be more specific. the difficulty of instal depends on the type of kit and what all you plan to use. do a little bit of research on air ride off the internet and once you get a better understanding you'll be able to answer more user specific questions which will help us.

took me 4 years of research before i went through it with mine...

however to answer your initial questions the basic installation of an airbag system is just as easy as installing your stock suspension and wiring a set of neons assuming you purchase a complete kit that is built well and made specifically for your car. Air ride technologies makes such a kit... www.ridetech.com

if you can install a stock suspension with some friends you can do this as far as the hardware. if you can instal stereo/neon equipment then the electrical is just as easy...

to your last question what is "fast" air kits... ? there are kits that are faster then others.... explain?

Sorry I type the thread up in a hurry. Below are the two kits I'm looking at getting. So far it seems their is only one site online I have found that sells a complete kit for the Camaro.

Kit 1

Kit 2

don't know what company those pieces are but i wouldn't buy them as it looks like they are using the cheapest parts and charging you alot for it... if your going to go separate look up parker valves as those are very good. any tank will do so you can buy them anywhere online for cheap. airline can be bought at semi supply stores in your area for a fraction of what the shops will charge and unless you want a special controller like the ridepro-e by air ride or the digital touch screen by chassis tech. compressors are least expensive when you shop around, i really like viair myself and i have the 450 model. the wiring is pretty simple to rocker switches off the relays if you aren't wanting anything elaborate.

you must not have been searching though because i gave you a link to where they have 4thgen kit specific parts too. here it is again with a few others.

www.ridetech.com

http://www.airliftcompany.com/

http://www.chassistech.com/

are all places that make custom specific kits for your car....

do a little more research.

Thanks for the help man. Really I just typed in something to google to see what would pop out and I only got two sites. I was wondering what do you think of this site?

Website

Their kits seem to be more reasonable priceed and it looks like they are made of better quality products.

cheaper yes... better quality, well from what i see their kits don't list the brand of valves or anything else so it would depend before i could see them being any better quality then the next.

air ride technologies is the only company i will back though, however there are obviously cheaper ways to go which doesn't necessarily mean that's a bad thing just that your on your own for suggestions. do your reasearch and it will pan out. worse that happens is you buy a cheap strut that pops while your driving or a cheap valve that either rusts or sticks. all things that can potentially happen with any company.

if your on a budget researching product info and figuring out the best places to shop for those items is your best bet.

http://www.airbagit.com/ is another informative website... read up.

good luck.
