Question Crunching/creaking under moderate/heavy acceleration

car in sig.
During moderate/hard acceleration OR with any type of load on the car like extra passengers or steep hills I get a loud crunching/creaking sound coming from the center tunnel under the shifter. The tranny shifts fine and does not slip so I'm guessing its external.

We replaced the stock tranny mount about 10k miles ago with an ES poly mount and when the car is jacked up there is no movement from the tranny/driveshaft and the mount bolts are tight.

Might this still be the tranny mount? or something with the torque arm??

Any input would be appreciated.

Sounds like what I had... turned out to be the rear. If it gets progressively worse then I would take a look at the gears. It always sounds like it's coming from the shifter area. Good luck.
