Clunk noise coming from front suspension. FIXED

I got clunk noise coming from passenger front suspension. I noticed it happens on few different occasions. One is when pulling in and out of my driveway when wheels are turned, sometimes I'll hear clunk or two. Another time I noticed is when turning left (only) in the intersection or when coming to a red light and hit the brakes little bit harder, I would hear the same noise coming from same area but it will only clunk once. Although it would not be every time but its frequent.

The car has 110k on it. Three years ago I changed springs and shocks, at the same time I changed ball joints, all the bushings that were worn out and installed Strano sway bars and end links. I don't drive car much I have put about 7k miles on it since. I don't have any other issues while driving. I haven't taken the wheel off yet and looked at suspension, I am planning doing it over the weekend, need advice what should I look for. Thanks.

Random thought….. when you replaced the front springs and shocks, did you replace the upper spring/shock mounts?

Also noticed you haven’t posted here since 2022. There's hardly anyone here any more. Place has been deserted. More posts from spammers than anything else.

I see that. I was a member for along time I remember when there was a lot of traffic on here, new threads everyday. Now my last thread was in 2022 and its still on front page. I'm a die hard 4th gen owner, 25 years and counting. I am not going anywhere LOL.

This sounds like a loose battery to me. Is the bold-down tight?

Probably not the ball joints or wheel bearings, but you’re far enough down the list of possibilities to check them.

Re: Clunk noise coming from front suspension.

Guys i have found out what the problem was and fixed it. I wanted to give it some time to make sure it was gone before replying to this thread. First the noise when slamming on the brake was coming from front passenger brake pad, the one with tabs on the ends. I found that there was play in it. I could move it side to side and If I slam it hard enough against the caliper it would make that same sound when i slam hard on brakes while driving. My car mechanic buddy of mine checked all the suspension components and ball joints everything looked good and tight. He just happened to check the bolts to the k-member and found some that were loose. One in particular on passenger side we ended putting 2-3 full turns, we found few more bolts on both sides (drivers and passengers side) that we could tighten little bit more. The clunk noise is now gone. Thanks everyone for your help.
