Ceramic brakes for rear?

I am going to be doing the breaks on the Z sometime next week.

I was going to just go to Autozone and pick up 4 new rotors and pads all the way around.

They carry ceramic for the front but not the back.

Anybody put ceramic on the back? Is it worth it?

Thanks.

I finally searched for a few months for my ceramic rear pads, I found them, but they cost me 230$ Now I don't notice any difference between them and the good quality semi-metallic pads I did have. The dusting is only slightly less since it's the rear brakes. When I say slightly, I mean slightly.

I went with Raybestos ceramic pads up front and their high-end metallics in the back. $150 for a complete set, lifetime replacement on ceramic fronts, 2-year replacement on metallic rears.

All are quiet and no dust. I'm VERY pleased with the setup. Oh, and I'm running Autozone rotors (Aimco? ??? )

man $230 for pads? you could have bought EBC green stuff pads for like $150 for all 4 corners. they're made from Kevlar fibers and almost dust free.

Yeah, sometimes I'm **** like that, I HAD to have all 4 corners match. I'm not mentioning what I spent on rotors.

Buddy of mine has EBC pads, good pads and they produce little dust. Only disadvantage is the warranty.

Re: Ceramic brakes for rear?

i got a good deal on safeline products, though my first mind was against it i just took a chance. glad i did noticed a great deal in better braking but i really add that up as i just was in a need for a brake job. but none the less there is a lot less dust & i dont see any less in quality. (ive used both raybestos & bendix in the past)

all four front and rear rotors (dimple / slotted)
front and rear ceramic pads

all for just under $250
