Cant Hook At All Help
Cant Hook At All Help
i put a new zexel torsen diff in to replace the badly slipping auburn unit. just before that i put on the control arm relocation brackets, that paired with nittos finished off the auburn. well now that i have a non-slipping differential i cannot hook at all, i cant go over half throttle from a start without roasting my tires. and if i stomp it from a stop it will walk side to side untill i hit 50-55. this is on street tires, but i should hook better than that with those brackets. what can i do to my suspension to make it hook? mods in sig
oops
i thought that i put that they are my friends tires in the first post. thats completly my fault. they are my friends nitto drs. ill find out what they are. does anyone know how i can hook on street tires in the mean time?
If they're DR's then that tells what Nittos they are.
OK, did you heat them? Soft tires pick up a lot of grit. You need to spin them to clean them and a bit more to heat them up.
I also see that you have Sportlines. Those set too low. If you look, your LCA's are probably still not at a good angle.

Get rid of the Sportlines. They weren't built for drags or really for handling since they don't have enough rate in the rear for how low the set. They're really only good for looks if you like the car to be that low.
Actually, if you have a friend with stock rear springs or something taller, you could slap them in and see if that helps.

ditch the lowering springs.... put a set of v6 springs on instead
play with the settings for your lca relocation brackets..... most of the time the bottom one performs the best, but sometimes it doesn't.
invest in either a new set of rear shocks (do a search to find the ones that suit your needs) or a set of lca's. Those would be your best bang for buck traction mods.
that and a nice set of tires for the rear..
