C5 Z06 Brake Upgrade Complete on LT1! (56k go dig a hole)

just got finished bedding the pads a lil while ago.

Kore3 adapter kit and calipers from them also. hawk ceramic pads, 13" cross drilled/slotted rotors, stainless steel lines (also kore3)

it's nice to be able to stop for once. but i think i might need a bigger master cylinder to compensate for the added piston area now.

not a bad install, took me 4.5 hours including a trip to the parts store for a new wrench

stock 10.9" LT1 brakes...boooo

old vs new

LT1 rotor vs Z06 rotor

spindle before modification

spindle after modification

Kore3 adapter bracket installed

wheels back on, brakes bled. great success!

I was thinking about doing the same thing but ordering the kit from BMR since they are right across the bay from me. Plus they are an awesome shop to deal with.

it stops great. i think it'll need a new, larger, master cylinder to take advantage of the increased piston area.

but overall impression so far, it's great. and you can't beat the look of the red corvette calipers behind black Z06 motorsport wheels.
