Arrow C4 Grand Sport Calipers

I did some searching and didn't come up with anything. I'm wondering what the difference is between the C4 Grand Sport calipers and C5 calipers. Both are for a 13'' rotor. I found a set of the Grand Sport calipers for a reasonable price and was wondering if it would be worth upgrading my LT1 brakes to those or the C5 brakes. I know what involves to upgrade to the C5 brakes on an LT1 just wondering what was involved with the C4 ones and if anyone has done this.

There's an additional bracket that you'd need to get along with the C5 bracket for your fbody. You're better off just getting C5 calipers and rotors. Unless you're talking about a really good deal on the C4 stuff.

I know about the C5, I was wondering if they calipers would bolt up for the C4 ones, and if there was a difference between the Grand Sport calipers and the C4 ones.

I have the Baer 13" rotor/caliper setup. It's basically the C4 setup. The Baer kit includes a caliper mounting braket and you need to cut off the stock brake mounting "ears" on the stock steering knuckles. Whether you're going C4 or C5, verify that the calipers will clear your rims...not all 17" rims work. The C5 setup doesn't not clear my Enkei Winn 17" rims.

Like I said, there's an additional bracket needed in addition to the C5 bracket. The C5 brakes are a better choice. It's a pretty popular mod amongst the C4 guys. This is why there's a C4 to C5 upgrade bracket.

Re: C4 Grand Sport Calipers

I have C4 brakes on my 96, not the Grand Sport caliper, however the only difference is the GS caliper is stiffer. They are totally different and inferior to C5 brakes. the calipers aren't as good (stiff), the rotors are thinner (1.0 inch for C4 vs. 1.25 for C5), and the sweep area of the pad is smaller. No comparison, go for the C5 Brakes. If I were doing it over, that is what I would do.

Thanks for the info man. That's what I'm leaning toward.
