Brakes making a metallic clunking sound!!!!

I have a weird metallic clunking sound coming from under my car when i drive over any imperfection in the road. it comes from which ever side it hits and is pretty loud. I really notice it in the parking garage where there are joints in the cement. any ideals!!!!
