brakes on ls1 z28

I just swapped my brakes and put on all new rotors, claipers, etc. This means I drained all the fluid and bled the lines. After doing this I looked in the haynes manual and it says i need a scanning tool to reset the brakes because of traction control or the anti-lock system. Right now I have no brakes. I was wondering if someone could tell me if I could reset the brakes with out having it towed to a shop to get a computer to reset it
thanks

I know the manual says that but you may not have to. For sure, if the ABS light was on when you stopped the engine, you will. Try bleeding them normally and it will probably work. I've done mine several time but I never let the master cylinder or ABS unit run dry so that might be an issue.
