Exclamation Brake problem...help!

I'm posting this for a friend who has a 1997 Z28.

Ok, here's the situation:
When driving and coming to a complete stop i must push in the brake ALL the way, keep in mind the peddle is SOFT and not HARD. This happened all of the sudden and now i get the "brake" indicator on the dash. I checked the fluid and all is fine. My e-brake wasn't engaged for the light i checked that. It just when stopping i have to push the SOFT pedel all the way in for a complete stop. What do you think is wrong? Is it the master cylinder? Vaccum booster? Fluid is fine and i changed the pads not that long ago.

TIA

Tell your "friend" that he probably has a master cylinder going bad if the ABS light is coming on. This is assuming your "friend" has checked the master cylinder, the ABS pump, and all 4 corners for leaks; and everything looks normal.

Re: Brake problem...help!

He is "97Z28kid" on fbody.com. He does not have an account here, so I told him to write up a post and email it to me and I would post it here for him.

Why would I have a hard time admitting i have a problem with the car? God knows i post about a lot less-involved problems with my own Z...

But, when i do have a problem with my car, with exception to the transmission ones I have already, I'll make sure to let everyone here know.
