i am installing hawk semi-metallic pads. is there going to be any brake noise associated with them? is there a way to lessen or eliminate the noise?

Re: brake noise

are these the HP+?

I just installed them on my car a few months ago.. I broke them in by going 40-5 like 5 times.. then 60-5 like 5 times.. came back let hte car sit for about 15 mins to cool off, then repeated, let them sit again.

They squealed and moaned really loud coming to slow stops on the street. I was getting annoyed by them.

However, I then took them to an open track day and really worked them, especially a few times down the front straight when I was being a bit more daring on braking. Now they are relatively quiet on the street.. some minor squeeks here and there..

There's various stuff you can apply to the back of them to help quiet them down.. Also make sure your those pad shims are installed right..

Re: brake noise

I ran HPS's before that, and they only squeeked a bit at low speeds, and low braking for me.

I sprayed some stuff on the back of the pads to make them squeel less..
