Brake Light stuck on - extra play in brake pedal

I know im due for a brake job, and i have the rotors and pads, i just havnt gotten around to doing it yet.

I was sitting at a light the other night, and it seemed like I had to push my brake pedal in more than i should, like there was extra play before it accually brakes. So i wanted to get an idea of how far my brakes go in. So i pressed it in all the way, and i felt a little pop or something. Now my brake light on the dash (ebrake) stays on. I tried messing with the ebrake and it doesnt go off. Am I low on fluid or something? Maybe have a leak somewhere? I also tried pumping the pedal when the car was off, and it stiffened up some, but i could still push it. This leads me to believe there might be a slow leak somewhere. Any ideas? Im not going to be driving the car much just in case. I dont want to die lol.

you probably do have a hole in a brake line somewhere. start inspeciting you car this way, first see if there is fluid in the master cylinder. then check where your brakes goto the abs, see if those lines are leaking.then check the wheels. see if your caliper lines are leaking.

you could also if you wanted to save some time is put cardboard under the car and keep pumping brakes and see where fluid is leaking. hope any of this helps

Yea i thought of that. Maybe I'm just going to order some of those stainless steel brakelines anyways. Anyone know any good brands for these and where to get them?

I've used Goodridge and Earl's lines. The Goodridge lines are more expensive but they are worth it. Tire Rack carries them.
