Brake Failure and Brake Light

I have a situation,
I was driving my car earlier and when I was hitting the brakes, I felt the pedal judder for a sec, Kinda hear a clunk noise, And then the brake pedal fell to the floor. Brake light comes on also.....
Brakes worked really bad , Dead pedal for a couple of inches, then worked and locked up the front tires.
My ABS never worked, So we arent worried about that.
I went home looked at all the calipers and such, making sure there was no leaking, everything was fine.
I took a look, and take off the brake cap, The fluid looks really low.
So I fill it up, takes quite a bit, And then bleed the car at all 4 corners pretty quick and then bleed at the ABS unit several times.
It now feels a little better, But the Brake light still comes on when I hit the brakes hard?!?!?
And it doesnt stop right and locks up the front tires pretty easy.....

Any ideas?

i believe the Brake light means that one side of the system has more pressure than the other side. I thought i remember seeing Brent post on something similar and he said it was the ABS connectors.

Hmmm, I drove it around and the brakes feel descent, But the light is still on,
We tried bleeding again from the ABS unit with no luck,
Maybe Brent will chime in.....

Re: Brake Failure and Brake Light

Well, Update,
I drove it around quite a bit tonight, The brakes work pretty good, The brake light went off, unless I am doing heavy braking.
Also the pedal still feels wrong.
It is really mushy at the top and doesnt work the best, but once I egt about half way down, You feel the pedal has a weird spot in it, Almost like it clicks, and then the brakes work better.

Any suggestions?!!?!

Joseph

Master Cylinder
unbolt it from the booster and see if there is any brake fluid in the back of the M/C or in the booster, if yes, replace the M/C and the booster

Yet that post was about the low trac light coming on, And my brake light comes on,
When I push on the pedal, it feels dead for the first part and then it feels like the pedal hits something solid and that is when the brake light will come on?
Any ideas?
