bmr or custom sfc's??

i havent driven my car since i got a new car and job, but now its time to take it out for some fun. i got some dr's yesterday and i dont want to twist my chassis. i know a guy that can fab some custom sfc's for me and install them for $250. he said he uses 2" square tubing thats 3/16" thick. he is a great fabricator so i know he will do a great job. i dont know if it would be better to buy weld in bmr's or have him make them? what do you guys think?

I bought the low clearance tubular SFC from BMR and like them... No problems... Its all about personel preference...

At $250 you won't be saving any money vs. the BMRs. Is your guy going to powdercoat them too? BMRs are a proven product. That's what I'd go with.

I'd say go with the BMR boxed. They have engineered these for our cars. Not taking away anything from your friend, but they have put alot of thought into their product. Also, with his design, you would probably lose alot of ground clearance.

I have the boxed. They only take away 3/8 - 1/2" of ground clearance. If you have aftermarket exhaust, that will be the lowest point. For the price difference, I say go boxed. They will resist torsion better than the smaller tubulars.

I went with boxed, its really not that much loss in ground clearence, can barely see them at all, they tuck up really well.
