bistein+poly bushings=higher ride?

I have a 94z and I just put some bilsteins in with some poly bushings. When it was all finished I ended up with at least an extra inch of ride height in the front. Anyone know why this would happen? I know that this setup should raise it maybe a little bit, just because it is stiffer but not that much. My guess is I could have not tightened the nuts enough that compress the spring on the shock. Anyone else have this happen? I might also add that I have a pop when I hit edgy bumps like pot holes and crap (in the front) . As much work as I put in to do all of this I think I might just live with it because I don't want take apart all of the work I did. Any suggestions?

Two possible reasons I see

First, New shocks/struts tend to raise your vehicle a half inch. Doesn't matter if its a Z28 or a monte carlo. Probably due to higher gas pressures and tighter internal fit. The best fix, drive it 1500 miles. It'll either sit back down, or you'll get used to it and won't be able to notice anymore.

Second possibility, the bushings are tighter than before, and are slightly resisting the suspension as it settles. The best fix, drive it 1500 miles. They'll self clearance as they work in.

This will be true for any shock you install. So even if it really bugs you, don't go run out and change em until you've driven it a while.
