bilstein HDs w/ eibach pro kt

anyone running on this combo?

My car: 99 Z28 A4

Im astonished at how much better the maro handles than my mustang which has bilstein HDs and drop springs, not to mention other little things.

Anyway i want to lower the Z and i dont want to half *** it so im looking at bilsteins right now. Anyway running the combo mentioned above chime in please.

it's probably the most common suspension setup...

it's not ideal but it's pretty damn good...and it's simple and fairly inexpensive compared to revalved or adjustable shocks

Not a bad set up at all. I had Koni Sa's up ront and HD's out back and i had zero problems at all. I did a bit of auto x too.

What's the difference in price? Which set would last longest with the Pro Kit?

Difference in price (HDs vs. revalves) is about $175. They will probably last the same amount of time, but the revalves will control the ProKit springs much better than the standard HDs can. This might make a difference if you are planning on using your car for occasional auto-X or HDPE, but the difference will probably be negligible for street use. But if it was my money, I would still go with the revalves and not worry about my shocks if I ever decided to participate in off-road events. Good luck.

I should be receiving my re-valves from strano any day now. I will let you
know how they turn out once they are installed, this is going with the pro kit
btw.

Re-valves are just the bilsteins "re-valved" specific to the pro kit damp
rate to my understanding, thus getting full potential of the shock. Please correct me if I am wrong.

That is correct; they are revalved to whatever springs you want to use with them. Stock HDs are made for stock springs.

Although a lot of people run the regular HD's on aftermarket springs, I chose
to get them re-valved for the new springs I was buying. I think it is worth spending alittle extra to get the full potential.

Try www.stranoparts.com, you can find Sam Strano's phone number on there. He has probably revalved more 4th gen shocks than anyone else.
