Best way to measure to adjust panhard rod

I have a single adjustable panhard rod and I noticed the my driver side tire sticks out about an inch more than the passenger side tire. I want to get it right so what is the best way to measure for adjusting?

Use a plumb bob and measure from the outside of the tire to the fender.

Heck. I just crawled underneath and used my index finger between two knuckles as a 1 inch ruler. There was only about an inch gap on each side from some part of the body. I just adjusted about 1/4 inch to make the two even.

I start out by laying the new rod on top of the stocker, lining up the holes so the bolts go in/out with ease. then put on car, stand back and adjust from there.
with a single adjustable rod you might have to revove one side and move it as needed to get what you are looking for.
