Best shocks for the $ and where to order from???
I'm looking to replace all 4 shocks and was wondering what everyone uses? Are bilstiens the most popular? Where should I order from (I'm not looking to drop 2 million on shocks).
Thanks in advance.

I sell HD's for $349. I'm not that cheap, but then again Shox.com doesn't hang out here and give advice either. Not only that, but I discovered that the "new" HD rear you'll get is a messed up valving. I still use the older valving that works much better. Frankly Bilstein took a good rear and made it more like the crappy DeCarbon's.
And in any event, Bilstein's are popular, but that doens't make them the best, or necessarily correct for all applications. I feel they are lacking in rebound control, and prefer something with more oomph.

I'm looking for something that gives good ride and decent handling, nothing special. I had a friend with bilsteins and eibachs and that thing rode NICE. If I wanted to lower about 1" and get decent shocks, what would you recommend? Doing mostly street duty.

Not hijacking, but keeping with the theme.

Bilstein HD are awfull on lowered ride because they are not made for it(damper). And Sam will tell you the same thing,he s an awesome tech guy.
Koni SA or DA are probably the best yo can get.99% of the time the SA are pjust fine.

Just ordered from Sam.......
Well Sam, I just ordered a set of Bilstein HDs (front and rear) from you for $349. It was nice doing business with you and I hope the installation is straight-forward enough that I don't need to come back here for help. Thanks for the replies guys.

No, not always.... situations vary, wants and needs vary. Springs, tires and overall setups vary.
I recommend a lot of different things. Koni's most of all simply because they are so capable of so much. But just today, I've done HD's, sold Revalves and 2 sets of Koni's.
