bent frame?

OK so ive been paranoid that my frame on my 95 camaro is bent. I can't take it to a shop to have it checked professionally as their is no drivetrain currently in the car.

The reason I think it could possibly be bent is that the passenger door is different than the driver door. when I took off the door panel the paint under it was a sort of purple, not the same color as the exterior(patriot red.) Also, their is like a trim piece on the passenger door that is not on the driver. So that door must have come from another camaro right meaning thats its possible the car was in a wreck? A checked carfax and it is clear. when the car was driveable their was no pulling, and it sits level. Is their anything else I can do myself to see if the frame is bent?

If it is am I totally screwed or can a bent frame be fixed depending on the extent of the damage?

I know im trippin and im sure nothing is wrong but I would like to make sure.

thanks guys

i think you are worrying about it to much. could be as simple as some one tried to break into the car previously and screwed that door up. so the person replaced it. lots of reasons to replace doors other than major accidents.

i put the car up on jack stands today in my garage and I noticed that the driver rear jack wasnt touching the frame when it was jacked up. it wasnt by a lot at all, very little space in between the jack and the frame. i switched the rear jacks around and I had the same problem. wtf?

Concrete is rarely level unless you specifically work at getting it that way. Also, jackstands are not precise enough to tell the whole story.

Lastly, you can check the driver's compartment to make sure it's square by measuring with a string and making an X with two diagonals to the two opposite corners. Your manual should show you how. However the best bet is to take it to a suspension specialist and have them give you an opinion.

If it makes you feel better, mine was hit in 1990 at an intersection in Orlando FL, and I needed some tweaking on a frame straightening machine to get everything back into alignment. Once done, I couldn't even tell. The car has since done many autocrosses, drag races, and a few road courses. It's been measured on the corners of the track at over 1g on lateral acceleration, and taken home a couple trophies. So a minor hit to the frame isn't necessarily the end of the world.
