I had an awesome set of brake pads on my '95 Z28, and I swear I ordered them from Summit Racing. I called today and they have no record of the order... So I must have ordered them somewhere else. Anyway, the brand is lost and I have to go with something else. Summit recommended the band they carry called VGX, which I know nothing else.

Is anyone else out there running this VGX brand? The set I put on my '95 mad a MAJOR improvement in braking, more than I would have guessed for a simple pad change and everything else in the braking system still stock. I hope these are as good.

 

Were you using Hawk pads? They are supposed to be one of the better ones out there. I use them and they are great.

 

Since I didn't get any response to the VGX's I cancelled the order and I'm on hold with Jeg's right now ordering Hawks! I've heard nothing but good things about Hawks. I'll be doing an LS1 front brake upgrade to my LT1 car so I've to mix and match and I'm going to get Earl's Hyperfirm brake hoses too while I'm at it. May as well do it right while I've got it apart!
