The outer pad has too much material on it so the caliper won't slide up around the rotor. Also, are all rear brakes held on by normal bolts? Mine are, but I thought I saw where others had allen headed bolts.

The rear calieprs have 14or15mm bolts holding them on. The front are 3/8" allens. I have their front ceramic pads-friction masters, and no problems. I have some cheapo rears and no problems with them either. I even installed brand new drilled/slotted rotors with the new pads.

If it is then your caliper is probably stuck.

I had to open mine up all the way to get them back on. IMO the advance pads are ok, maybe not quite worth the money. I have them on all my vehicles right now.I will be trying something else like maybe the VGX's next time.
