Adjustable shocks worth the extra money?
I need to replace my shocks soon and I have been looking at different brands. It seems that the adjustable shocks always cost more, but is the feature worth the extra money? Or am I better off just saving my money and going with some Bilstein Shocks?
Re: Adjustable shocks worth the extra money?
It really depends on what you want to do, and how much effort you want to put into it. If you are primarily street with the occassional autox or dragracing thrown in, then no, it's probably not worth it. Just get either the Bilsteins (for stock springs) or some of Sam Strano's revavled Bilsteins (for stock or lowering springs). Either will make the car handle way better than stock and won't make it ride any worse than stock. If you are heavy into autox, dragracing or roadcourse use, then you MIGHT want to consider adjustables. For street/dragstrip use the QA1s seems to get pretty good reviews and are fairly easy to adjust. For autox/roadcourse use the Koni SA/DA shocks are good, BUT they can be very hard to adjust on the front of our cars and many users end up leaving them set at a compormise position, or set at a race position and live with the much harsher ride. Hope this helps.
