ABS Inop after longtube install

I started my 97 ta up after installing longtubes and "ABS Inop" comes up on the dash as soon as I start it. I'm clueless as to why.

Re: ABS Inop after longtube install

I checked my brake lights after reading other posts, and they are fine.

Did you by chance disconnect the speed sensors up front during the install and forget to reconnect them? I'd take a look at those.

Yea the header on the passenger side is right next to the passenger side ABS sensor wire. Follow that ABS sensor's wire and you may notice a connector that is burnt to a crisp that just happens to be right next to a header. That happened to me and a friend.

This is a pretty common mishap, I believe I secured that wire harness away from the header with some cable ties in order to avoid cooking it.

I don't think that's it because I zip tied the wires about 1/2" away from the headers during the install plus they have a silver heat shielding on them.

I noticed the abs inop light a few minutes after startup because I wasn't paying attention to the dash at first. I think it probably went on immediately at start up.
