Unhappy Abs Help

The controller for my rear brakes located in the ABS Motor pack in my car is bad. Therefore I have to replace it, not a hard job if i had a Scanner to relieve the tension so the gears don't go flying everywhere.

IF ANYONE HAS ABS PARTS OR KNOWS WHERE I CAN FIND AN ABS MOTOR PACK FOR A 1995 3.4 PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Good luck with that.
The dealer told me the same thing.
Yea its the motor pack sold me one for 350 bucks.
So I took it off the car and looked to see what the deal was with the tension relief.
I found out that the motor pack was fine and the hydraulic unit was bad.
I went to the junk yard and found two that were broken.
I did Finley end up finding one that was good.
If you find one you have to pull the bottom plate off and make sure the gears are good and that there are not any clips sitting in the bottom.
That's what was wrong with mine I took off the bottom plate and Saw these clips the looked like a "U" if you see them it's toast.
I'm not an expert on ABS but I really don't think it's the motor pack I think it's like mine was the hydraulic unit.

Re: Abs Help

how did you pull the bottom plate off
and you were able to do it without relieving the tension?
does disconnecting the battery relieve it?
and you are saying if i still get my ABS inop code after replacing this that its the hydraulic unit?

If I can remember there are 6 Torx Bit head bolts on the bottom cover.
Just take it off and see if there are these "u" shaped clips floating on the bottom if there is then the hydraulic part is toast.
Now think of this If the motor pack is bad how can you do a tension relieving?
You can't.
The only thing you can do is reset the gears to there home position when you put the new motor pack in.
But like I said the dealer told me it was the motor pack and when I took mine out it was the hydraulic unit because I saw these "U" shaped clips that are some how holding the hydraulic unit together.
The best way to do it is to check the one in your car take the bottom plate off and see if there is damage to the hydraulic unit IE seeing the "U" shaped clips sitting on the bottom or the gears chewed up.
You will have to take the whole thing out of the car.
I could take some pictures of the bottom of my old one and show you the clips if you want to?
The best thing to do is just go to a salvage yard and get one off another Camaro.
I'm almost 95% sure that they are all the same from 1993-1997.
Let me know.
