94 Z Vert shaking all over the place

Have a problem with my94 Z28 convertible. A little back ground on it, at the tail end of 05 I put new springs and shocks on the car [bilstein HD's] along with new brembo brake pads and rotors. I have P24540R17 tires on with the Torque Thrust II rims. It's also an automatic (i know)

Here is the problem when I hit a bump with the top up or top down the car bounces all over the place. When I roll over some sewer covers going at 30 the car hits like it just hit a 4 foot crater in the rood. The car jumps all over the place over bumps and the steering wheel pulls every which way but straight going over bumps. Since the new shocks and springs the car has only 8K miles on it. A total of 74k in miles on the car in general.

Now I am not suspecting anything with the shocks and springs but I am concerned as to what if anything could be worn underneath my car? Control arms? Torque arms? Maybe I need a beefier sway bar?

Also and this may be for a different forum, but when going about 50 and taking my foot of the gas the car noticeable jerks back and slows down incredible fast as if I were going up hill. However this only happens when the car is in drive, when the car is in neutral it rolls fine and stays steady at the speed. With it in drive it slows and fights back all the time.

Thanks guys

With wider tires, these cars tend to follow uneven pavement. A stiffer sway bar won't help, will probably make matters worse. Check your control arm bushings.

Worn ball joints or tie rod ends could cause that too

Jack up a front wheel and try to move it back and forth to see if anything moves

When was the last time you had an alignment done? Make sure you go somewhere that has a good reputation. Those machines are calibrated and a lot of places have several guys using them. Everyone does not treat equipment right. The place that I usually try to go only one guy working there uses the alignment machine. Hope this helps.
