75 LT - What is this?

75 LT - What is this?

So I am looking at a 75 Camaro. I have not seen the car, but many pics. I don't know what the item circled in the attached link is. The current owner bought it 14 years ago and parted all the rear and drivetrain and it was to become a 1/4 miler. However he's done nothing to the car.

What is this and what else should I be watching for in relation to this, and a 75 Camaro in general? I know it needs floor patches.

Does this view of the rear frame look OK? I don't remember the weld going to the upper shock mount.

Whatever it is, it's not factory. My guess is a homemade attachment point for a C3 Corvette Independent Rear suspension like the one in this pic. (If it loads.)
