3rd gen strut tower brace
3rd gen strut tower brace
I have the spohn front coil over kit and am wondering about a strut tower brace.
I have the drag race kit and have welded extensions to the plate that spohn provides to put under the strut tower that strengthens and distributes the weight to include the two bolts for my strut tower brace. Currently I have a 3 point edelbrock. With my edelbrock it is mounted with two brackets and bolts on both towers and I think it allows body twist at the bolts. But still provides the needed strength so the strut towers do not flex inward.
But I have seen pics of fabricated strut tower braces that have have solid mounts eliminating the bolts just welded bar to the plate that bolts to the tower. I have the tubing bender and material I am just concerned that it might be to stiff?
My plan is to make one out of 3/4 pipe and mount it solid at the towers and firewall. What is everyones thoughts?
Thanks
