Vararam Intakes for the 2010+ SS! You need to see these! V6s are coming soon!

For those not familiar with the Vararam products, I run them on both my Corvettes and nothing performs better. Here is a little information on the system for the Gen5 Camaros and a link to my website.

If you can find a cheaper price than what I have listed I will beat it!!!

ITS HERE!

Vararam HAS GIVEN CAMARO OWNERS WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN asking for!

The new 2010 Camaro system from VR represents a major leap forward in terms of real world performance delivered with the quality that Camaro owners and tuners alike have come to expect.
Quite simply, this is the Most Powerful ram air system we have ever produced for a Road Car.

This is the most powerful induction system of any kind for the new 2010 Camaro. Our competition will talk,
but they will not outflow it or outrun it. They will never outperform it!
Every aspect of induction technology has been used in this system.

The days of a "cone with a pipe" are dead,
because there is no air colder than Ram Air!

Introducing the Super Street version of the VR Camaro system (code name, SS)

This Latest version is a development of the original system. Proving that it takes a Vararam to catch a Vararam! Designed to remove the volume and the manual adjustment that was built into the the original VR systems. We spent hundreds of man hours addressing the finicky nature of the OEM Camaro during cold start operation, removing any bucking, lumpy idles etc...we removed it all!
(We also made a very important discovery regarding the OEM air meter, a must read covered in the air meter section)

You can even take the filter out of the latest VR system and drive the car around without issue ....it will be baby smooth, try that with any other air box on the planet! This enables tuners to maximize the HP in their combos without compromising drive-ability at any point. From mild to wild the VR-SS will stay smooth while delivering tire smoking airflow that no other company can match!

General features for the new Super Street spec system.

The following items were changed:

*The tail/ air box has had over 200cu/inches of volume removed to improve extreme low RPM 1,000-1,600RPM drive-ability.

*The filter- Here we now use a custom panel filter offering -washable and reusable made by Green USA to VR specs.

*Rifling The MAF - A custom 1/4 inch thick med density Honeycomb MAF screen has been added to both downsize the system and improve flow quality into the MAF at low throttle input. We did not stop there, we went a step further by employing an elliptical neck vs round to further balance the flow across the MAF, this also helps to equalizes velocities in even the most extreme conditions.

*A front wing has been added to control the amount of air entering the system. This features several vortex generators to further aid overall airflow efficiency,

*A heat pad has also been added from the special service package (Police Camaro) This helps deflect the hot radiator heat when the fans are operating. This greatly reduces unwanted heat soak in static conditions.

*Available in Tune and NO Tune models.

Which one do I want?

No Tune models - NO Tune models are setup to support 430 Rear wheel HP (500 crank HP) (365-370 Rear wheel HP is a common stock number on a 6sp man car/ 315-320 Rear wheel hp on an automatic car). A common power combination would be long tube headers, high flow catalytic converters and a cat back exhaust and the VR. You may even "tune" the No Tune model for some added power. Before choosing the NO Tune model you must check the factory code on the OEM air meter (checking the meter page)

Tune models - These are setup for 430-700 Rear Wheel HP,small and large Cubic inch motors. these must be tuned when they are installed. If you do not tune them the fuel trims will be at a high level ex +18-20%+ and the MAF will be scaling low in its MZ range. Tune models are made to be tuned on the spot for max power.

The Super Street is setup for smaller lower power combinations from stock 400hp to 700hp (call for higher HP applications) To achieve this we increased peak flow but decreased the peak volume to insure good low RPM drive-ability, even with the wildest camshaft combinations.

The VR Camaro unit is "Modular" and can be switched from one combination to the next in just minutes. Making it the last intake that you will ever buy for your Gen5 Camaro, so no matter how mild or wild the combination, VR has you covered.

"No Tune" Models have seen Gains of 20-32HP / 22-40+ft lbs of Torque
through the entire curve on the Dyno! Documented and data logged.
Using EFI Live & wideband systems to verify air fuel ratio, "TUNE" models
have reached 35-40HP+ on dyno with stock cars!
Modified cars can produce more power!

100% Performance Money Back Guarantee!

PLEASE READ ABOUT AIR METER:

During our testing we discovered a disparity between identical Camaros in terms of there reaction to changes in airflow and weather conditions.

We noticed that one car would be finicky at cold start and the MAF would scale "weak" while others would be strong and clean.

What we discovered was that the 'WEAK" meters were reading 1560-1670HZ at idle with the A/C off (OEM is 1800MHZ+)

During on road, light throttle input the MHZ would be slow and weak to respond to throttle changes (hesitation)
Wide open throttle showed 120-170MHZ lower than OEM stock (OEM is about 8600MHZ) on the same car.

Weak Meter Fuel trims-
The fuel trims would go to -15% using a VR -3% for a panel filter and -5-8% for other intakes. MHZ would drop as would the idle. When the MAF scaled in at WOT each would richen up accordingly.

Test 2
We pulled the filter from the VR completely, this resulted in fuel trims dropping down from -15% to -24%, MHZ dropped another 70-90MHZ. The car would drive fine but WOT operation was basically weak/flat and timing was low etc...<br>
Now with one simple meter swap which takes about 1min the car immediately corrected, went back to 0% fuel trim MHZ jumped back to 1800+ all within 30 seconds! The car drove like a Rocket!

We began final confirmation by swapping air meters in cars and doing volt meter testing in static conditions. 30 meters, 3 cars = the same exact result every time. We confirmed this with VR customers tuners around the US.

The Result is that these 'weak" meters are not showing the same resistance levels as the majority of OEM meters.

This lead us to contact the GM rep and the actual manufacturer of the meters (its not Dephi) They confirmed the factory which allow us to identify each meter.

These numbers and letters are located on the back of the meter as shown.

(WHAT TO LOOK FOR) The factory code

The suspect meters have all consistantly had a single letter located in this area VS a number with a letter.

Here is the catch 22

If the airflow is not changed by a substantial amount (our flow testing verifies that most of the aftermarket boxes do not) over OEM then the meter will be within OEM Tolerance but will always be "weak".

You cannot tune this out, its a fundamental issue with the resistance of the meter. It needs to be replaced. This is why some cars are finiky and some are not.

We have made arrangements through our GM parts dealer to stock meters just for this purpose.
We will be selling them at our cost (no markup at all)<br><br> You may not need the meter, estimated 90% will not.

This meter is also used in the Corvette as well and some of those as of 2010's are starting show up.

I can get the meters for $99 shipped. The dealers sell for more. Basically you have to go down to the dealership and sort through their on-hand stock looking for the good meters (both carry the same part number so ordering is hit or miss).

Let me know if you have any questions!

Will these work with Magnacharged cars or just those with stock intakes?

Don't know the answer to that, but I will do some research and find out. Steve from Vararam is out on Monday but if I can't find an answer before that I will contact him. How far does the magnacharger move the throttlebody from the stock location?

Either way you should still check your air meter ;-) with any intake mods. Might be leaving power on the table.

Supposedly if you rotate the tail section 180 degrees it will fit. Vararam did a test vehicle with that setup and I will follow up on the results with Steve on Tuesday. You will want the tune version for a Maggie though.
