We haven't tried to put an LS1 rear in an LT1 so I can't give you a complete rundown if it is possible. I'm not sure if the LT1 backing plates will bolt-up to the LS1 rear. The calipers might also be different.

Re: Strange 12 bolt rearends on sale!

My 12 bolt is an ls1 style in lt1 car.

The lt1 backing plates bolt in fine, however the spacing isnt exactly right. You need to do lots of shimming to get the rotors centered in the calipers. Even after i shimmed and reshimmed, it still wore the pads unevenly. Finally switched to ls1 backing plates/calipers and all was well

Re: Strange 12 bolt rearends on sale!

Tom,
I'd need a set (5pcs.) of replacement screw-in wheel studs for my Strange rear.
Can you give me a quote please?

TIA

Re: Strange 12 bolt rearends on sale!

So I can have 3.90's in a 12 bolt. Can you still use 3.90's if you use the super strength posi? Are those still avaiable?

Victor: I can check into the studs for you in the morning.

The 3.90s can be used with the Super Strenght posi. That posi is now standard in these rears.

Hey thanx for the FYI. Guess I'll sell of the slotted rotors, hawk pads and get me some LS1 stuff. Did you have to chane brake lines as well? Reason I ask is that I have stainless steel ones all the way around and want to keep it that way
