Never deal with SLP directly

Just wanted to vent. SLP in not a paying vendor so this sould be cool.
SLPonline.com has to be one of the worst, if the the absolute worst companys to deal with. (thats "legit")

My experience:
December 3rd
Went to SLP website and ordered replacement stripes, new centercaps, and a dash plaque.... $125 worth of stuff.
I got an automatic respons the next day giving me an order number and claimin expect your product in 5-7 days.

Weeks go by, now it after christmas and im wondering were my stuff is at.
I call them up on the 29th to find the closed from the 23 dec-4jan. I was like ok, called them on the 4th. (already 32 days later)
There phone numbers dont work.
Called them again on the 5th, phones are not online again.
I email them saying i like to know where my stuff is at and the status of my order, and that i would like to here something from them, email or phone call

no reply email agian on the 8th

no reply
Call them on the 12th. Talked to a lady who said she would check on it and call me back.

No call back, I call them again on the 14th and they say "it will ship out tomorow" finally i say to my self

I call again to see if i can get a tracking number on the 16th. SLP claims the items were all backordered and have not shipped. ??!!??

Now this almost pushed my over the edge. I call them again on the 20th and told them I ordered this stuff nearly 2 months ago, That i had contacted them 8 times and they had never made a single effort to contact me nor let me know they were "backordered" or anything. told them i was going to make a claim to the BBB.
He said he would check into it. and i should call back tomorow.

I call back on the 21st and they said it shipped. no overnight, no 3day select, just regular ground ( total shipping and handling charge was $15.95 even if they did over night they would have still made money of the shipping)

Anyway i finally get it on monday, the 26th of january 54 day after i had ordered.

I think thats pathetic, borderline insane. And the fact they never called, never emailed, never put any effort in to there buisness just tops it.

Slp sucks, People may have had good experience with them but this was just to pathetic for me.
Thank god for their sake they aren't on ebay. Their feedback would kill them

Im done venting

Yes they are.
https://www.camaroz28.com/misc/vendorindex/

However, that doesn't matter that they are a paying vendor or not. There is a LARGE difference between just bashing because you "didn't get your way" (which is the usual way people do it) and venting about a legitimate screw-up where you feel you were not treated fairly.

From what I read, you probably weren't treated as well as a paying customer should, and you have a liegitmate reason to gripe.

I know the before SLP came on board to support this site about a year and a half ago, there were a lot of problems that needed to be cleared up. For the most part, those problems were indeed taken care of as I have not seen near as many complaints that I used to.

Let me ask you this...have you called SLP back and calmly and professionally expressed your problems to a supervisor? I'd give that a try and see if anything good comes out of it. If not, let me know via e-mail and I will see if I can get in touch with a friend of mine at SLP. I can't guarantee any results but I don't mind trying as I feel it will help you out, help SLP out, and help everyone else out in the future as well.

Every company has problems now and then and this is clearly one of those times. Good companies take situations like this and use it to make things batter. I know that when SLP made some changes, that method was put into place so hopefully they will use this to everyone's advantage as well.

Jason,
I will try to call them up and talk to a supervisor about my experience.
But seriously, what would they do? say they are sorry? If there costomer service is know by many to be bad, my they problem wasn't the workers i delt with via emails and phone calls, but maybe its the managment there.
All i can do i think its give the people here some feedback so they do not have to go through any ordeals like mine.

If they didn't have a monopoly on replacement SS parts, they would be out of buisness.

Yeah, I know what you are saying, but it is a step in the right direction. That is what I would do anyway. Posting about it on a message board is certainly a way to vent, but it probably won't be the best ropute to any kind of resolution from SLP.

Perhaps if you speak to a supervisor, you could request a refund of your shipping costs for your frustration? I don't know if it will work, but again, that is what I would do.

True, but like I said, these kinds of problems are much less frequent than they used to be, that is for sure!

On the other side of the coin, there are others who have had no problems dealing with them.

I am very curious to know what happens if you call them.

If you need a reference in regards to crummy service I will help you out. Took almost 6 months to get my Level 1 suspension I got on GP a few years back.........did they offer any compensation for my time, money, effort calling them and listening to absolute BS every few days? No, they just shipped it out. If they had told me 6 months to get it I would have opted out. They blamed it on 1 item also, so why didn't they ship the rest out while I waited for that? I asked and they said they wouldn't. I will never go back to them ever for any product...........
Let me know if you want a hand bro, I'm with ya.

same problem here, slp sucks plain and simple. I ordered shocks and struts, they give me a tracking number only to ship it out weeks later. And the shocks were not decarbons with "5" miles on them, last time I give my money to slp.

Last month I called them and ordered a set of center caps. One week later they were on my doorstep. Now, the time before that sounded a lot like what has happened here. After I got my caps so quickly I thought things had changed.

Maybe not.

They told me the caps were the only thing backordered, and thus they didn't send anything else.
And you say you got your caps in a week
lol. go slp

Well, they might be. I ordered sometime last month, and the caps I ordered were for a set of GTX wheels I was going to put on my Grand Prix.

Cool

I ordered my shocks and springs a week before Christmas,The longest wait was for the ground shipping(holiday traffic),but were new looking, and installed here.Total time was about 2-2 1/2 weeks.I'm very happy with thier parts and service. In the furniture business, delays are commonplace.(Fabric discontinued, product arrives damaged,6-8 more weeks waiting,or the wrong fabric comes in,or the fabric will be unavailable for months, ect.)We are at the mercy of the suppliers we buy from.Anyway,I'm totally satisfied.My02
