Kook's Custom LT1 Headers

I have been talking to Kooks to get them to make us LT1 guys a header. All there LS1 stuff kicks ***. They have promised me that they would make the header if I could get 10-15 serious buyers. They will make 1 3/4, 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8, and 1 7/8. They offer mild steel, mild steel coated, or stainless(with that being my personal favorite). I have been looking for 1 7/8 for a long time and I know I'm not the only one. These headers will use their spiked collector just as all their headers use. So lets get a list going, e-mail me with name and phone number or if you have questions post here.

I'm interested. Few questions:

1) Price with or without coatings
2) O2 bungs
3) Emission Tubes
4) What kind of plug access compared to Hooker & Jet-Hot LTs

Thanks,

Jody J.

Pricing would probably look like this.

Mild steel = $520-600
stainless = +$275
coated = +$250

They would come with 02 bungs. And could add egr if needed.

I hope we can get this going cause I know they will be the best LT1 header on the market. Especially for us big cube guys with no header options other than fully custom.

What is a spiked collector?

Could they offer an oval collector to improve ground clearance?

I will check on the oval collectors, but i'm not sure what they will say. I haven't seen any oval stuff from them.

Where the primarys meet at the collector there is a spike that brings the air together smoothly, this is why they make so much more power than other headers.

If you made the cash outlay, I guarantee you would sell every last set of them, especially if they were larger than 1 3/4.

That being said, I am interested in a set but I would need to see pics at least to be sure of the quality of what I'm getting. 1 3/4-1 7/8 stepped or 1 7/8 diameter is the size I'm interested in as I can get 1 3/4" anywhere.

I have had 2 sets of their headers for an LS1 (first set was regular 1 3/4, new set is the stepped design), and I can tell you they are awesome. The ground clearance for the LS1 is the best you can get, and they don't have any issues like most others out there as far as install and clearance.

BTW, stainless is great. Both of mine have been stainless.

They did come up with a catted y for the LS1 crowd, so if there is enough interest they might come up with one for you guys as well.

Now if you really want something special - check out the tri-y setup - its insane.
