Masc Performance Ported LS1 throttle body.

Our throttle bodies are the true definition of perfection. They are hand crafted by our master cylinder head porter Carter Edwards. He has spent countless hours of R&D work on these units, trying hundreds of different combinations until he found the right design which produced the best flow results and the best overall uniform and concentric shape. To make sure every unit performs it’s best, he set’s a standard to which each throttle body must meet before shipment. The throttle body starts out as a production piece and by the time it leaves the shop it is truly a work of art. The production LS1 throttle body, for it’s size is actually quite restrictive. The actual throttle blade is 75mm in diameter, but GM put a lip in front of the blade that measures 70mm to help restrict wind noise from incoming airflow. That lip is the biggest restriction by far, but there are other factors involved as well. The big hole in the upper left hand corner of the throttle body is also restricting the amount of airflow allowed to pass by the blade into the intake manifold. Carter fully ports the lip to match the size of the throttle blade and epoxies the upper left hand hole shut. Then, the holes are drilled in the epoxy for the air/oil bypass and IAC control functions to work properly. After that and some other secrets that cannot be released, the entire inside of the throttle body bore (before the blade) is fully ported and uniformly shaped so that airflow can have the smoothest path to follow into the intake manifold as possible. The throttle stop pad is also ground down so that the blade can open a true 100% or 4.6v…The unit is then cleaned and assembled. This throttle body is a true bolt on, the only thing needed is to install your old TPS sensor, IAC motor and set your TPS to your desired idle speed. Although results may vary, the typical bolt on car can expect a 5-10 horsepower gain at the rear wheel’s while heads and cam car’s or strokers can of course expect more!
