Question DMH Electric cutout (?)

Would anyone be interested in setting up a GP on DMH electric exhaust cutouts? I'm thinking of calling Summit this weekend, but would rather save a bit of cash if I could...

I'd just like to see how much interest there is in this...

I'd be in for one. There hasn't been a DMH gp for a while.

DMH is not currently a Supporting Vendor here. QTP is, however.

Too bad cause I want the DMH. I guess I'll have to pay full price on their site. Ah well.

BUMMER. I was hoping that one of the supporting vendors here carried them...

I certainly don't mean any offense to QTP, but I'm with Flyin_Z28 - the DMH is the one I'll be getting. (It certainly looks like we have enough interest, if anyone does want to "step up"...)

Re: DMH Electric cutout (?)

Wait - all of a sudden Summit Racing (arguably the "900 lb. gorilla" of the performance parts world) is a "nobody"?

As you likely saw in the other thread, I'm entirely willing to keep an open mind - but the only data that I'd gotten (from a Monte Carlo board, FWIW) led me to think that people had seen problems with the QTP, & that the DMH was the preferred solution.

I don't have experience with either, but I'm going to try to do my research before buying...

(I'd actually prefer to buy from someone who supports CZ28, so their being a supporting vendor is definitely a "plus" in my book...)

Re: DMH Electric cutout (?)

In MY personal experience, I've had far more problems w/ the DMH unit than my QTP unit. No knock on Dave, as he was very good w/ fixing them, but the guys at QTP have also been really good too..........

When comparing the 2 (I have both sitting somewhere on a shelf right now), the QTP is a much more solid looking piece. But I do know my story is more unique as far as my problems w/ the DMH units than others.

And Summit isn't a supporting vendor, so no need to mention them any more.

The qtp i had was a pos. I sold it and bought the dmh. Never been happier. My buddies mccord crap plate went bad after 2 months. DMH is the most expensive and in this case you get what you pay for. my .02

I have to throw in my .02 about the mccord crap as well. I had a lot of problems w/ that unit, and that was even after replacing the gears a couple of times. And, he really let our club down when he offered us door prizes at some of our events, and then disappeared

Had to take some time away from this thread before replying to this, I didn't want to give vent to the first response that came to mind (I've been a moderator on an automotive board & have seen some of the crap you sometimes take).

With that said however, it's illogical to try & "plug your ears & wish them away"... (And I'll not say anything more on that!)

And that is pretty much exactly what I've been hoping to find - direct, first-person experience with one, or the other, or -preferably- both. Much appreciated.

At this point I'm probably going to hold off on getting a cut-out of any brand. I certainly didn't intend for this post to become any kind of flame-fest, the subject really isn't that important...

If its a good price, I'm in for 2 DMH cutouts I think if they give a GP somehow.
