Will Holler Chevy refuse warranty b/c of SLP parts on the car?

Hey -

I know there have been a lot of threads about dealers refusing to do warranty work because of totally unrelated mods.

I have a 2001 SS with a small crack in the intake manifold, so I need them to replace it. The car has an SLP MAF and SLP air lid. Otherwise, bone stock. Should I have any problems? Also, if they refuse, is there any recourse directly through GM?

I was planning on taking it to Holler Chevrolet in Orlando. Anyone have any experience with them with warranty work?

I dotn see why they would. If they deny it, ask to speak to a manger, that can do a 180 on decisions a lot of the times.

I recommend Courtesy Chevrolet (formerly Don Mealey) on West SR50. Ask for Andy Taylor. That's where I bought my last 2 Chevrolets and have had outstanding service from them. I used to have a 97 Monte Carlo Z34 that used over 2 quarts of oil between changes. I could smell the oil burning. I took it to Holler and they said it was a plastic bag stuck to the bottom of the exhaust. When I disagreed they supposedly put dye in the oil to see if it was leaking (the entire passenger side of the engine was covered in black goo and it only had 25,000 miles on it). They really ticked me off so I took it to Classic 2,500 miles later. They couldn't find a trace of dye in the engine compartment. They even held up the black light (used to detect dye) to the oil dipstick and it didn't even glow. Holler never put any in! They just completely blew me off. Then Classic told me that 2 quarts between changes was within GM specs and they weren't gonna do anything either.

Holler also replaced the rack & pinion in my mom's 94 Geo Prizm. They never aligned the car. It still made popping noises. They refused to do anything about it. My mom being nonconfrontational never did anything about it.

Stay away from Holler Chevrolet! And yes this should be covered under warranty unless they can PROVE that you did something to cause the damage.

I can't agree more! Andy helped me out several times with my '97 Camaro vert and my Blazer. He went the extra mile to have a problem with my rear window degfogger covered by extended warranty. He is da MAN! Since my office moved to Lake Mary, I have had to go elsewhere for service. Went to Holler one time and they were absolutly useless. I have had good luck at Classic. They have always address my concerns no questions asked.

Why not just swap the stock stuff back on and never make them the wiser? I fyou don't have them anymore, I am sure someone has them out there to loan. I have a lid, but it is for a 98...

Thanks for the help guys. I think I'm going to do that ... my brother has a '99 SS with stock stuff, so we're going to swap to avoid any potential problems.

How stupid is this - they offer the worst warranty in the industry, then they "occasionally" stand behind it.

It was a campus keyboard, and broken when I got on it, but I was already logged in so eh...

As for the cars... the newest car I have ever owned had 94,000 miles on it when I got it... But I will admit I am a bit rough on cars..

I recommend the chevy dealership near the airport, I believe its World, but I think they changed the name. Anyhow, I have taken my car there at least 3-5 times for warranty work and they haven't said a thing. I have a full body kit, catback exhaust, cutout, SLP lid with colored tubing in engine bay. Never hear a single word about voiding anything, they are very nice there.

hmm I ahve a quick question.

What about the cars that COME with the SLP upgrades NEW??? are those cars voided from the regula warranty? If so thats BS.

Thats almost liek saying SVT fords come with no warranties.

But then again those are upgrades made After the car was bought, but stil lteh same company.
