Are you going up Friday night or Saturday morning? A friend and myself are probably heading up early Saturday and was wondering if anyone wanted to caravan up.

I think Chuck is heading up Friday...Jason? Eric? Anyone know how to get hold of ZR1 George or Don Hosler?

I'm probably going up Friday afternoon to visit with my pop on the Suwannee River and let him lecture me about racing my car that is too fast and too expensive that I should have never bought in the first place. Wait till he sees that I've lowered it, put race tires on it and added more power with a Diablosport Predator. BWAHAHAHA.

George and Jackie are going up to Georgia on Thursday I think. Jackie said they were getting some more work done to the C5 before the big race. His email is listed on MCO's site. I have no info for Mr. Hosler. I can always meet you guys along I75 in Gainesville if you want. I think I remember how to get to the track.

There's info on the Martin site re: road work, and to take alternate exits to get to the track. May want to check it out.

Nope not yet. But it's nothing that keeps me from driving it. It'll probably be fixed about month from now.

Sorry I really really really really really really really really want to go..... but the girlfriend got us NASCAR tickets in martinsville for the race on Sunday, she got them 6 months ago so well before this was planned... I am trying to talk her into maybe leaving sat night from Gainesville after I race since we are taking my car anyways...

Guess I won't be dominating G-prepared... yeah like I ever do that...

to anyone reading this if you are remotely interested in this go it is well worth it and a wonderful experience... If you believe all those lame stereotypes of f-bodies being to big they are wrong this is where the f-body will come out strong, long straight aways, and long sweeping curves, not tight zigzags in a parking lot like autocrossing. jsut like Gran Turismo

On a side note Chuck do you know what 03 Cobras are classified or has no one really done anything about it yet? Are they GT? or up with the vettes?

They're in B class. 911's, Boxsters, M3's, NSX that type stuff. But I don't care. They still can't beat me.

Hey guys how was it?

I really really wish I could have gone even with my near pure slick tires, actually that might have made it more fun

Hehe on a side note, did get to have a mini prix experience, in Virginia, Sat. night, find out they stop selling beer at midnight in stead of 2am, like here, and NO ALCOHOL SOLD ON SUNDAY!, I mean going to a NASCAR race sober is jsut silly, so 1:45am, I find this out, and I am jetting along all 2.2L of sheer Cavalier power banging away, goign 90-105, speeding up slowing down through some mountain highway, trying to get to the North Carolina border before 2am, made it at 1:55.

It was funny, a guy made an announcement, and everyone got out of line and let the 5-7 guys buying alcohol get throught the line before 2am .

By the way the NASCAR race was awesome I am not a big fan like my girlfriend but its awesome in person, she had awesome seats, Row 7 about 70 yards form the start/finish line.

I think George won AP, Chuck won GTP, and I won Novice. Palmblad took TTD in the SC Miata.

Don was quicker in George's car than George was, though. I learned a lot...very happy with the results.

Congrats to Jim and Chuck!

What kind of times were you guys running out there? Was it the same course as last time?

It was pretty much the same course except the start and finish lines were both moved a bit further down the straight (toward the parking area) and instead of looping around the rectangle on the back stretch we made the first right into it and exited back out with a right turn at the end of the back stretch just before the 120 degree right hander. Hope you remembered all that.
Here's a linky to a picture for refreshing your memory.

My best time was a 63.4. Top time of day was right at 60 flat. That was between modified Z06's and a supercharged Miata. The Cobra that took 2nd place in GTP ran a 63.8.

We had a larger turn out than we did in October. 129 or something like that. We only expected less than 100. So that was good. The club's bank book was getting low. That helped.

Jim - Congrats on your victory. How did the pics that I took for you come out? The one you sent of my car in the S-turn is awesome! Thanks. I didn't even know you took one. I now have new wallpaper on my PC. As you can see I still need that solid 35mm front sway bar. It should be here any day. Just in time for our first anniversary. (My car and I were joined together for eternal bliss on 4/16/02 don't ya know)

Bad news Jim. I just read your sig and those heads and cam are gonna put you in race class. I didn't remember that you had those. If you want any competition in your own car you'll have to run in Street Mod. There are hardly ever any cars in GTR. You're always welcome to run the SS though.

Cool, you had me worried for a while! I heard you were running 63ish which was about 12sec faster than my best run back in Oct on the longer layout. I knew you were alot quicker but I didnt think you were that much quicker, lol...

As soon as I find a job I *promise* I will try to make it out there more often (not that it would take much). Anyone want to hire a soon to be UCF graduate with nearly worthless degree in MIS?
