Back when I first heard about the club and someone invited me to join they told me that every member was required to put the sticker on their car, which is why I never went to a meet. Thats just what I was told though.

But yeah, I still think the name is kind of a turnoff, and is probably why the club attracts mostly younger kids.

I think that might have been me that you talked to. If it was me, then I think you just misunderstood me. All I said about the sticker, if it was me, was that that was the only expence (club charge) if you wanted it.

We still do not have any "club due's" per say, but we incurage you to donate a buck or two to keep the site up. Also we have shirts (many different styles) and some different style stickers, if you want to buy them.

I would still encurage you to come out some night to see what it's all about. You don't have to become a member, just come check us out. You never know you might end up liking what you see. Also we do have an age veriety in the club.

True, we do have some younger members in the club, and a great deal of young guys who come down to hang out on the weekends. If I was still 19 or 20 and saw the gathering of cars that we have, and now draw, on Saturday nights, I'd be inclined to stop in too.

I'll admit, there was a good amount of friction in past months, but that has gone by the wayside. As others have said here, you'd be hard pressed to find a more close-knit group of friends with a common interest who will pull together when someone needs assistance. The core group is like a big family.

The stickers... well, those are indeed a matter of choice. You don't have to put one on to belong. I liked the idea when I saw the first few over a year ago, even though some might not find it to their liking, and proudly display one on my Cobra to this day. Some people see it and love it, others don't. What matters, is that I like it.

For those of you that have come out and not felt welcome, I can only say that I have seen a few people pull in, hang close to their own cars, and then leave after a few minutes. It's definitely easier to meld with the group if you know someone, but that's pretty much the same wherever you go, I think.

It's a cool group of people. Folks come by, hang out a few times, and just fall into place with the group. Even the heavy hitters in Orlando's street scene have gravitated uptown over the past few months to our corner to chill. I invite any of you to do the same.

KOKO!!

The "Corner" (as we refer to it) is at 50 and Orange Ave near Downtown...

Mike, the sticker was never manditory....

I gotta admit, when I first got inducted into the group, I was praying that I didn't have to put a Sticker on my baby

But after getting to know the guys and finding out what the real Fuel ***** are all about, I now have my decal in place and show it Proudly

There are some really cool guys in Fuel ****. I was hanging out with them and thinking about joining for a while. AND THEN they moved to the corner of 50 and orange, and a lot of youger and rowdy guys would go out there, and some of them don't even have cars. I just don't dig screaming crap at people when they drive by, or starting fights over bullsh!t, I left that behind in high school/college. A lot of the guys I used to see out there aren't out there much now either. Still a lot of members are pretty cool and I still go out there every few weeks, especially after a few beers at a bar downtown, I fit in a little better when I am rowdy myself. if you know someone there go hang out, it can be fun, if its too rowdy just leave like I do.

Rick - Wasn't I there with you the night you first had somebody put the FuelSlut sticker on your rear hatch in a parking lot? I remember you being very questionable about someone putting it on your car, and that you'd probably take it off. It was soon after your custom paint job was finished.

I think we left a CFFB gathering and you took me down to the corner, then we hung out in an underground parking garage for a bit. We played musical chairs in multiple parking lots for 3 hours, and watched two apparent central FS members get into a fist fight in a parking lot, next to the bigger guys' truck.

Just wasn't my cup of tea. For the limited number of people who showed up at the corner (6?) and the maybe two dozen cars in the garage, the people didn't seem all that interested in new members. I don't like to lose sleep just to stand around BS'ing, and watching members bicker amongst one another.

I personally don't care for the club name. Regarding the sticker, I only have faint recollection of someone indicating that it was "highly suggested" to have the sticker if you're a member. It doesn't matter which club - I don't like stickers, and I'm sticking to my story

Like I said, nothing personal against them, just not how I like to spend my time. *shrug*

I think I remember the incident you mentioned, and that was a guy that I introduced to the group. Not a central member, just more of a tagalong loudmouth. He tends to be a bit mouthy and obnoxious, and on that occasion he took it WAY too far, which started the fight. It was over in a hurry, and he stopped coming out. Thank goodness.

I also don't condone the younger guys who get their amusement from yelling at cars down at the end of the lot , but unfortunately since we don't own the place (and are grateful to the owner for allowing us there), there's not a lot we can do without involving the police (which is something we don't want). Usually, if someone is getting a little stupid, someone else politely bringing the fact that they look like azzes to their attention is enough to shut it down.

There's no more bickering going on. Nights are pretty low-key, so we don't draw unwanted attention. Occasionally, the cops pass by and BS; even had one get on his PA and challenge for a race. That would've been interesting.

Jim, thanks for your post. You aren't really interesting in hanging out, yet you didn't trash the club. I appreciate that.

Some nights are better than others. Feel free to stop by any time.

Hey Jim

Yeah, I remember that night...

It was kinda ****ty with our little tour of Orlando and the boxing match in the parking lot (I missed it, but you told me about it)

Yeah, I didn't really care for the sticker at first....

Things have changed though

We get together much more often (even during the week), have routine Barbecues, cruises to Daytona and pretty kewl video shoots
