Went to the track!!!!

Went to the track Wednsday night and ran the LT1 and finally got the tune some what dialed in, the car went 11.74 @ 119 with a 1.81 60'. I know there is a little room for improvement due to the fact that I have not tunned WOT but also getting no knock. I am so excited about the trap speed!!!! It pulls great up top and the drag radials really hooked good.

What does your car weigh? (With you)
I have an antique Moroso Weight to Power side rule...

We can get you Rear wheel hp...
Trap speed 119 @ 3500lbs = 450 horsepower

Seriously, none. Stock short block with 80,000 miles, le2 heads, cc306, 4.10 gears, 1.6 RR's, fully ported intake, comp 918 springs on heads milled .025, long tube headers with 3 inch y-pipe svo 30lbs injectors. mail order tune but I am using tunercat and am trying to get the tune dialed in, The car pulls very hard up top and I did not think it would trap that speed in the 1/4 but it did. I do not think it is putting out 475hp, maybe 425 to the wheels. It was pretty cold out and the air was dense when I ran that time.

I dont think that ruler is correct, 475 crank hp maybe but not rwhp. great time tho. and when its cold out heat the tires up more, and take some air out. not sure what tires your using but my nitto's like about 15-20psi of air and without the nos i get a consistant 1.75 60.

Yep, the old slide rule fails. It's quite overzealous. My 2000 was 3540 w/ no driver. I was 180-185lbs @ raceweight myself. I went 10.777 @ 124.94 best, made 479.7 RWHP.

I like NHRA factoring for flywheel HP, ET divided by 5.825 = X. X * X * X = XY. Vehicle weight divided by XY = flywheel HP. Then figure around 15% loss for manual cars, and 18% for an efficient auto car. Now this only works/is accurate if your car hooks. Lots of spin, and the #'s will obviously be lower.

Ex. 10.777 / 5.825 = 1.85013, 1.85013 * 1.85013 *1.85013 = 6.33296, 3720lbs / 6.33296 = 587.4035 FWHP, 587.4035 * .82 = 481.6705 RWHP

With a final # of 481.6705 - that's damn close to my actual dyno of 479.7

Take it for what it's worth...

Sorry to the jack the thread OP, congrats on the new best. By the soft 60', you have at least .3 - .4 tenths left in it.
