UCF'ers: Competition: Fastest Car on Campus

Hey guys, what do you think of this: we talk to OSW and convince them to have a "Fastest Car on Campus" event. To boost attendence we could promote it to Valencia too. Here's my basic idea for requirements and classes:
1) Must provide proof that you currently attend UCF or Valencia at least half-time
2) Cars must be registered for parking at UCF or Valencia.
Classes/Rules:
1) Bracket racing-this would be the money maker for the track that would convince them to do it. Any street-legal car. No drag slicks, drag radials permitted. This will help bring out a large crowd
2) Street Class QUICK 16- Fastest 16 Qualifiers go heads up OR bracket, no drag slicks, drag radials allowed, must have full exhaust and drive the car in. Possibly stipulate Full interiors, possibly say NO skinnies. No tubbed cars, must have factory windows, no lexan.
3) Stock Street Class- NO Power adder, no drag slicks, no drag radials, No skinnies, full bodies, full exhaust, full interior
4) FWD class- Front wheel drive boys, fight it out for the fastest car. We could split this into Turbo and NON-Turbo classes
Tell me what you guys think. This was just off the top of my head. I want there to be $$$ prizes of some sort based on purses (amount depends on number of competitors). LETS FIND OUT WHO'S GOT THE FASTEST STREET CAR ON CAMPUS!!!

I would go....

I may even be competitive... I used to get .5XX R/ts, and be consistent, but my car is probable running a 1/2 second different. And I have made maybe 8 passes in the last 6 months.

But I agree thsi woudl be cool.

I bet it woudl fill up the track, lots of modded cars on campus.

As for fastest car on campus.... I hit 80 on that rad that goes around the back of campus... wonder if I have been the fastest, ON CAMPUS...

that was pretty stupid of me.... but I got lucky.

i've hit ~90 on the road going around the side of campus, the 4 lane one that tapers into 2 lanes up in the construction at the arena.

it was one of those floor it real quick then slam the brakes things, cause there isn't much room to do such things

but yea, i'd definantly go to that. i do believe there would be an incredibly high incidence of rice though. not rice as in imports, i mean rice as in the bad style of rice such as the Type-R Daewoo Lagonza i've seen recently... i've been trying to get a pic of it but i havn't been able to.

If you count the research park as campus since UCF does own and patrol it then I've done worse. Back in the day, prolly before most of you were here, the research park was known as the UCF drag strip. That was back when nothing was built out there. Anyway, the BAD rice would probably get knocked out in the first round. Oh, and watch out for that Lagonza type R. I hear it has the optional 105hp motor w/ a K&N replacement filter!!!! He might touch 13s.......w/ drag radials of course.....and stickers

REsearch park?

I sued to live at college suites at science drive...I know I have hit over a hundred back there, especially after you make the right turn at the AT&T building and the stop light, I love when its green, I go far left turn lane, then cut back to maintain my speed, and just fly through the gears

I got a warning for hitting 102 on alafaya....

thats why I do not get too pissed about b.s. tickets or even regular tickets...

Chuck... I think you would enjoy research park more than any of us.... ITs a sweet setup with sweeping curves...

My biggest fear is go glying down a road, and run into another car out there flying like I am

hehe I did notice it...

funny thing is yesterday I was jsut thinking wow, a nice f-body dirtier then my car? That means he REALLY needs to wash it...

course I cheated, I ran it through the carwash at BP, I wanted to get the undercarriage sprayed, lots of oil all over the bottom of my car since my bad oil leak. Too cool out to be washing cars.

Makes you feel any better I cut a corner a little close and nicked a curb goign about 50, little gash in the front right tire and a little scratchon the rim...

ohh well that is why I don't get nice rims... that and the whole being broke thing.
