you don't generally take the expressways everywhere all the time, mainly beacuse every time you get on its 50 cents, then a dollar every toll plaza, then by the time you've gone somewhere and come back you've spent $5 on tolls.

around orlando, which generally speaking is a HUGE place because of the horrible urban sprawl, we have 4 lane roads that go most places. god forbid your on one of these roads during rush hour, especially when UCF is in session.

gas prices are less than average i think, and no emissions

one thing that florida is more known for is its speed traps. for some reason, i'm not sure if its because of our laws or what, but there are a lot of small cities that make huge money off of pulling you over. AAA names the worst 2 speed trap cities in the USA as being in florida. i *believe* one was waldo, FL but i cannot remember the other, but its south of orlando.

the orlando area, and the i-4 corridor was known as a high growth area for high tech industries. this pretty much stopped when the economy went to hell though, but when it turns around it'll probably pick back up.

oh yea, and lots of old people on the road... but not nearly as dangerous as all the rice. ever hear a pissed off hornet's nest?

I moved down here in 89 from NYC. Let me tell you the job market is what you need to be concerned about. You will not get the pay you were getting in Jersey. Taxes are less here but so are services. Schools suck, period. Housing can be found anywhere for less than what you're used to. I wouldn't buy anything at first if you move here; rent and see what pans out first. Don't burn any bridges up north in case you need to go back. Use extreme caution when moving here. Palm coast has been around for many years . They were advertizing back in the 80's if I recall right. If you want Beach front it will cost you no matter where you go. Interior lots are a lot less $. If you want cheap look at Deltona area. Not far from beaches (15 miles??) Close to Daytona, Orlando. OSW.
