Anyone have ANY news on ANYTHING resembling plans for a strip somewhere south of Moroso?

Im in North Broward, and its a 60 mile (One way) drive. I cant imagine what its like from Miami.

Well I live in Coral Springs and I read in the Coral Springs Forum awhile back that someone was trying to find land to build one in the Broward County area. Unfortunately that would require alot of land and personally I don't think theres any left to build a drag strip. I happen to think that Moroso is maintained terribly for a track that is so famous.

A drag strip in Broward? We had one years ago. Anyway, With the price of land in Broward you can forget about any hope for one to ever be built.

Yeah there's a dragstrip, its called State Road 84, Flamingo road, Shotgun Road, 130th, at least in my old area. They refuse to allow a dragstrip to be built, its been lobbied for, and shot down by people who don't want the traffic, noise etc. And then they complain and wonder why there is so much street racing in South Florida.

The only thing you might see is a track down near the Homestead Miami Speedway and I wouldn't recommend holding your breath. It'll be awhile before that happens, if it happens. Kinda sucks for the guys in Broward 'cuase even if there is a track built down in Homestead, it ain't gonna be much closer than Moroso.

I was out there a few weeks ago actually. I come down there every once in a while to visit my parents. I have a lot of friends in the Davie, Cooper City, and Pembroke Pines PD, so I know where and when to be, because there out there with me with their scanners.
